Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4200 block of Spur 527 about 3:45 a.m. on Sunday (June 1).
The identity of the deceased female, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. A male, also 20, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer A. Alaniz reported:
A male was operating a Suzuki GSX1000 motorcycle with a female passenger and was traveling at a high rate of speed inbound on Highway 59 South and exiting onto the Spur 527 interchange. The male lost control after taking the interchange and the motorcycle skidded several feet before striking a retaining wall, ejecting the couple. The male, who was wearing a helmet, landed on a grassy area. His female passenger landed on the right shoulder of Highway 59. Both were transported by paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where the female was pronounced dead.
