Update: Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in July 5th Crash on Interstate 84 east of Arlington
An Arizona man died Thursday evening from injuries sustained in a crash involving a wrong way driver last Saturday on Interstate 84 near Arlington.
Kelly Lee Bunger, age 28, of Apache Junction, Arizona reportedly died Thursday evening at Oregon Health Sciences University from injuries sustained in the collision .
Bunger had been the operator of a vehicle stuck head on by a wrong way driver on Interstate 84 near milepost 144, approximately 7 miles east of Arlington, on July 5, 2008 at 10:09 p.m. The operator of the vehicle driving the wrong way on the freeway, Michael Frederick O'Toole, age 39, of Aloha, sustained non-life threatening injuries in the collision and was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston for treatment.
Oregon State Police troopers, including a crash re-constructionist, from The Dalles Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the crash. Once completed, the police investigation will be forwarded to the Gilliam County District Attorney's Office for review.
