El Paso, Texas - One man is killed, and two other men and one child are taken to local hospitals after a vehicle veers onto oncoming traffic. Just before eleven this morning, 33-year old Ernesto Garcia Jr. was driving a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis westbound on Carolina. Garcia failed to negotiate a curve on the roadway and veered on to oncoming traffic ob Carolina. As a result, a City of El Paso Building Maintenance van collided with the Grand Marquis. The impact fatally injured Garcia. The nine year old child in the car was taken to Thomason Hospital and is listed in stable condition. The two city employees were transported to Las Palmas where they were treated for minor injuries. Garcia and the nine year old child were not wearing safety belts.
